I woke up today feeling great! It's the start of a short break and I finally find some time to rest well.

Who says only V day is special?

Saw this newspaper article and decided to share it on my blog..it's about Koreans celebrating the 14th of every month. Every 14th of the month holds a special meaning for them..

14th Jan:
Diary Day
Couples exchange their diaries on this day while singles can start a diary with a bunch of friends and circulate the book around. It's a chance to understand your lover or friends better through their inner thoughts. You never know what you can discover.

14th Feb:
Valentine's Day
I bet everyone knows this special day. A day for couples to pledge their love. In Korean, single ladies will give hand-made chocolates to someone they like. Ready-made chocolates sold in outlets are meant for gifts to normal guy friends.

14th March:
White Day
If a single guy received hand-made chocolates on V day, here's the chance to reciprocate if the feeling is mutual. He will send the girl he fancy white chocolates.

14th April:
Black Day
It's a day for singles. Singles will get together to have zhai2 jiang4 mian4. zhai2 jiang4 mian4 is black in colour, reflecting loneliness. Some people will wear black cothing or accessories.
It seems like a sad day for singles to moan over their lonely status.. tsk tsk

14th May:
Rose Day/Yellow Day
Couples in love will give flowers to each other. Roses are a lot cheaper on this day.. so why not give your lover flowers on this day instead? *tip on saving money

14th June:
Kiss Day
*muacks.. kiss kiss.. other than that, share your love history with your lover. Legend said that couples will tear in joy after knowing each other better.. so it will rain on this day.
I think either one will cry after they know their lover had such a long and magnificant love history. Sometimes, it's better to be ignorant of their past.

14th July:
Silver Day
Give silver day to show faith in the love you both shared.

14th August:
Music Day
Exchange cds with your lover.. record their favourite love songs into a cd and give it to them. 'I believe' is still a hot-favourite now in Korean


14th September:
Photo Day
A day to flaunt your lover to your friends or relatives. A good day to take lots of photographs to keep as memories..

14th October:
Wine Day
Drink! Drink! drink red wine with your lover!

14th November:
Movie Day/ Hug Day
Watch movies together..hug each other tight while watching the love movies together.
I want a huggie too..

14th December:
Money Day/Sock Day
A day to make a huge hole in your boyfriend's pocket! a day for male to give expensive presents, eat at nice restaurants etc. Just make your boyfriend terribly broke!

Lunar new year just flew past and I haven't enjoy enough of it yet.. not enough of eating steamboat, cookies, playing cards and getting ang pow. Let me recap what I did last few days.

Saturday Chu xi: I had 'new year' breakfast with Shannon and Angela. Went home after that to help my mother prepare reunion dinner.. dun want her to nag non-stop.

Sunday Da nian chu yi: Ang pows came to me on chu yi. My grandma's staying with me so relatives came visiting my house. As usual, I had to stay at home the whole day to entertain them.. played cards and won some money. =) Saw my little cousin, Max who is only 2 years old. Oh gosh, by the time he's twenty I am already forty! However the limelight was on my nephew, Yongjie who was just born. He's such a cutie..

Monday Chu er: Went to my Godma's place. This year, my jiu yi's family not around in Singapore.. so there was too much peace and quiet. ( My jiu yi has 4 children..so u can imagine how noisy the kids can be) Andrew couldn't go too..so did Wenjuan's family.. hence there's no excitement in gambling since there weren't much people there.

Tuesday Chu san: Had to do some tutorial. My parents' rc friends came visiting.. had steamboat and gambled again. Gambling luck wasn't that good.. the banker had 5 ban luck simultaneously and won 200 plus in total. I din lose any cos I was using Andrew's money.. hahaa

This year ang pow money was much better than last year. I expect next year to be as great since I would be getting an extra one from Andrew. By the way, I have a huge family.. 8 aunties and 1 uncle from my maternal side. My dad has 4 brothers and 5 sisters in all. I guess large volume made big ang pow money. *chuckles
